The Idea of Softcopy Translation Center (STC)

Dear Clients, Visitors and friends;

Softcopy Translation Center sends you a very big Thank You for being interested in our services and website. Softcopy Translation Center is based in Egypt and is meant to provide translation sevices for Civil Society institutions. That was our goal in the very beginning. However, the need for money brought us a briliant idea.

When we started our small project few months ago (since January 2006) we were faced with the big problem of FUNDING. We wondered where can we get some money for our project. And after long and deep thinking we found the solution. We decided to build some free website. We searched the internet for a free web host, and we were lucky enough to know about BRAVE NET services. It is so simple and results are so amazing though.

After we built our free website on Brave Host, we started to contact translators. Here we faced another problem; not all translators accepted to translate for free. Not all of them are interested in Human Rights and Civil Society issues, so they are not convinced to translate for free. Few days later, I saw some dream while I was asleep. Then I waked up with the briliant idea in my mind.

To pay wages for translators, we must charge those who want to translate. We still want to provide Civil Society institutions with free translations. That is it. We decided to translate for ordinary (i.e. commercial) companies beside our translation services for Civil Society Institutions. From ordinary companies we get money and pay wages for translators. And for Civil Society insttiutions we translate for free.

I told you, it was a briliant and unique idea.
